Culture and modern development of Uzbekistan presented at the Moscow Polytechnic University

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 May, the final stage of the Forum-festival of national cultures “We are all for peace!” was held at the Moscow Polytechnic University.

In November and December 2018, the first and second qualifying rounds were held, at the end of which 22 teams representing different countries of the world received the right to participate in the final round.

The university students from among our compatriots, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, formed a national team that actively participated in all stages of the competition and reached the final.

The festival opened with a tasting of national dishes and an exhibition of folk handicrafts performed in various techniques and areas of decorative and applied arts. The pavilion of Uzbekistan was especially crowded: national dishes, dried fruits and sweets were presented here. Students, faculty members and guests of the forum were able to taste real Uzbek pilaf.

Students also organized an exhibition of posters on the fight against extremism and terrorism in the modern world. The culmination of the festival, of course, was a gala concert on the main stage of the university, to which representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow were invited.

Welcoming the participants and guests of the forum, Rector of Moscow Polytechnic University Vladimir Miklushevsky noted that the Forum-Festival of National Cultures “We Are All for Peace!” held for the second time already took a firm place in the cultural life of the university. This event is aimed at creating and strengthening the atmosphere of friendliness, mutual understanding and openness among students. This is especially important for the university, where representatives of 55 states of the world are currently studying.

In turn, the Consul General of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, Mehriddin Hayriddinov, spoke about the ongoing large-scale reforms in our country in various spheres of life. Particular attention is paid to the ongoing work to create an enabling environment for the younger generation to receive quality education and employment.

During the concert, the teams presented their creative performances: songs, dances and theatrical performances. Then each of them held a video presentation on the topic “Who is the hero for you?”.

In particular, the creative program of the team of Uzbekistan dealt with the glorious history, unique culture and tourist potential of the republic. With great love, students told about the centuries-old customs and traditions of our people, their sincere hospitality and humanity. It was noted that during the Second World War, Uzbekistan became an island of salvation for many millions of evacuated people. Our people have warmed by the warmth and comfort of thousands of children who were welcomed as their own and surrounded by their care and attention.

Incendiary national dances performed by our compatriots created a festive atmosphere in the hall.

At present over 500 representatives of our country’s youth are studying at the Moscow Polytechnic University.
