Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 September 2024, the criminal court in Yunusabad district of Tashkent commenced proceedings against Anvar Juraev, the former chairman of Toshshakhartranskhizmat.

Anvar Juraev was detained in February 2024 at the request of the Deputy Attorney General of Uzbekistan. He is accused of colluding with the company’s chief engineer and the heads of two bus depots to embezzle spare parts and fuel.

A total of 21 individuals are implicated in the case, of which 8 are in custody.

During the first session, a list of the accused was read, including Anvar Juraev, former vice-chairmen of the company, heads and engineers of the bus depots, as well as warehouse staff.

Since many defendants have not received indictments, the process has been postponed for a week, until September 30.
