Court in Tashkent sentences two bloggers to 15 days of administrative arrest

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 October, the Yunusabad District Criminal Court of Tashkent sentenced bloggers and members of the brbalo group, Kamal Yusupov and Abror Gulamov, for a video they filmed.

In late August, the brbalo group released a video titled "Aboka 2," in which Kamal Yusupov portrayed a worker in the intimate services sector, while Abror Gulamov played the role of a young man who falls in love with her.

The video was produced by the bloggers themselves but was later removed from YouTube.

The court found them guilty of violating public order and distributing video content that contradicted social norms and etiquette.

During the court hearing, Yusupov and Gulamov admitted their guilt, explaining that the video was intended as a joke but caused public dissatisfaction and violated established norms. Both expressed remorse and offered public apologies.

As a result, each was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest under Articles 183 ("Failure to Comply with the Legal Requirements of Law Enforcement Officers") and 194, Part 1 ("Minor Hooliganism") of the Administrative Offenses Code.
