The net profit of Coscom, Uzbekistan’s third largest mobile operator, fell 5.6% on the year to 1.588 billion soms in 2006, the company said Thursday.
Coscom said net revenue from sales of services had risen 75% on the year to 32.652 billion soms last year. The company did not explain the drop in net profit.
Coscom said assets had increased 35.5% on the year to 70.806 billion soms in 2006 and capital expenditures rose 2.9% to 11.968 billion soms.
The US’ MCT Corporation holds 85% in Coscom. The operator had 378,000 users before its license was suspended in February for ten days due to alleged violations of its license agreement.
