Cooperation with Germany in the field of higher and vocational education and science is strengthening

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Currently, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Komiljon Karimov is in Germany.

Members of the delegation consisting of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and other responsible employees within the framework of the project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) “Supporting the processes of reform and modernization of the vocational education system in Uzbekistan” get acquainted with the activities of higher education institutions and vocational schools, employers’ associations and other organizations in Germany.

As part of the visit to the country, a meeting was held with Ms. Kortmann Karin, head of the western office of the German Society for International Cooperation in Dusseldorf. At the meeting, an agreement was reached on the further development of mutual cooperation and the implementation of the next stages of the grant project. Ms. Kortmann emphasized that the German Ministry of Labor promotes the development of the necessary competencies for young people who want to work in Germany.

The Uzbek delegation got acquainted with the activities of the Federal Labor Agency of Dusseldorf, the Dusseldorf Industrial Exhibition, the Dusseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Truchiler Group company, specializing in the development of equipment for light industry technologies in Mönchengladbach.

Representatives of the Dusseldorf Industrial Exhibition were invited to InnoWeek.uz, which will be held on 16-20 October 2023 in Tashkent.

There was also a visit to the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences to get acquainted with the dual form of education introduced in higher educational institutions in Germany. Dr. Matthias Beir, a professor at this university, made a presentation about the activities of the university. This higher educational institution, which has many years of experience in the form of dual education, and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry agreed on joint training and scientific cooperation.

In addition, meetings are planned with representatives of the German Chamber of Crafts and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Confederation of German Trade Unions, the German Employers’ Association, the Director of the German Federal Institute of Vocational Education, Dr. Kress and Ms. Günther, Senator of the Berlin Senate for Youth Affairs.
