Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place in Tokyo between Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and Yuriko Koike, Governor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on advancing cooperation between Japan and Uzbekistan. Minister Shermatov emphasized the significance of opening an IT Park representative office in Tokyo, noting that this marks an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations.

He highlighted that international cooperation in the field of technology plays a crucial role. The partnership between Japan and Uzbekistan opens new horizons for sharing advanced solutions and will contribute to sustainable economic growth in both countries.

Governor Yuriko Koike, in turn, noted that strengthening collaboration in information technology, innovation, support for startups, and the export of IT services is a vital initiative and represents a new phase in bilateral ties.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed interest in establishing a long-term partnership aimed at transforming Uzbekistan into a regional IT hub and reinforcing Tokyo’s status as a global center of innovation.
