Cooperation in a number of areas was discussed with the ministers of Singapore and Hungary

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Kudbiev held meetings in New York with Minister of Sustainable Development and Environment of Singapore Grace Fu and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.

Minister of Sustainable Development and Environment of Singapore Grace Fu discussed the state of cooperation between the two countries and the prospects for its development.

The head of our state, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was on a state visit to Singapore on 16-18 January 2023, and the President of this country, Halima Yakub, was in Uzbekistan on 23-25 May. The parties noted the importance of implementing the agreements reached on these visits.

The issues of developing cooperation with Singapore in the areas of capacity building and exchange of experience in the areas of "green" economy and "green" growth were also considered. At the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, the main attention was paid to the issues on the agenda of cooperation between the two countries.

In particular, it was noted that multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary is developing at a high pace. In particular, as a striking example, it was noted that the leading European bank OTP became the main shareholder of Ipoteka-Bank.

In addition, the parties discussed issues of assistance in the development of joint projects in agriculture, food industry, pharmaceuticals and other priority sectors.

An exchange of views also took place on issues that could be included in the agenda of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Uzbek-Hungarian Commission, scheduled for July.

According to the contract for the sale and purchase of the state share of Ipoteka-Bank JSCIB, signed on 12, 2023 between OTP Bank and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the first stage of the transfer of 75% of the shares of OTP Bank has been completed.
