Cooks Association to be created in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan supported a proposal of business entities and NGOs in catering and hotel business, as well as Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan on creation of the Uzbekistan Cooks Associations.

The decision was adopted for further preserving and popularizing national cuisine of Uzbeksitan, training of cooks of international class, supporting initiatives on developing catering, introducing international standards to the sector.

The Association will be founded at Constituent Assembly by legal entities, which work in catering and hotel business, the resolution said.

Legal entities, which work in catering and hotel, as well as other related industries and share goals and tasks of the association, can become members of the Association.

The main task of the Association is to preserve national heritage and culture on cooking, reviving rare types of Uzbek cuisine, developing cuisine art, promoting healthy lifestyle, correct nutrition, etc.

Among main tasks of the Association are also organization of training of high quality specialists in catering and holding master classes with attracting foreign and local chiefs.

The Association will also help to develop competition in catering, attracting foreign investments, interaction with World Association of Chefs Societies (WASC), participation of its events. It will also promote the Uzbek cuisine abroad through participation in conferences, seminars, etc.

The Association will also provide information services, prepare and spread special editions, books, magazines and booklets, as well as electronic publications to promote national cuisine.

The Government also approved proposal of the Association founders, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan on creation of International Center for National Cooking Art.

The International Center will train specialists for catering industry, re-training specialists of the industry, and others.

The Association activities will be financed due to mandatory and voluntary fees of members, donations, and other income, received in line with the legislation. International Center will be financed due to resources, received from training activities, donations, resources of the Association, etc.

The Government of Uzbekistan exempted the Association and International Center from payment of customs payments till 1 January 2016 for imported technological equipment, educational and methodical goods.
