Contact serves 1.7m Uzbek citizens in Jan-Sep 2008

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 1.7 million citizens used Contact money transfer system in nine months of 2008, a press release of Russia’s Russlavbank, owner of Contact, said.

The release said that the figure is twice as much as the same period of 2007. The volume and number of transactions in Uzbekistan rose by 114% and 86% respectively in January-September 2008. The bank did not reveal other details.

Contact started to operate in Uzbekistan in 2002 and now its partners are 15 commercial banks of Uzbekistan. It has over 1,000 points in 200 cities of Uzbekistan.
