Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Construction of another solar photovoltaic station with a capacity of 1 MW has begun at the Ferghana Thermal Power Plant, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan said.

The area of the station, which is located both in buildings and in free areas of the enterprise, is 6,300 square meters.

Currently, specialists are actively installing metal structures for future solar panels.

The new station, after commissioning, will be capable of producing 1.8 million kWh of electrical energy annually. This will save 400,000 cubic meters of natural gas annually.

It should be noted that the total capacity of solar panels installed at thermal power plants is already 9.6 MW, and by the end of this year it is planned to increase this figure to 15 MW.
