Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Construction has commenced on a new tourist complex in Beldersay, Tashkent region, according to the Tashkent region khokimiyat.
Ulkan Mulk, which acquired the site in 2023, has begun dismantling old structures. The 100-hectare area will be transformed into facilities for mountain and wellness tourism.

The project includes a 2.5-kilometer-long cable car and a 5-star hotel equipped with a sports ground, as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The first phase of construction is expected to attract investments of US$4.5 million.

The sale of the Beldersay recreation area in Bostanlyk District began in March 2021. Previously owned by Gulnara Karimova, the daughter of Uzbekistan's first president, the site was offered with its sports base and cable car.

Due to a lack of bids, the sale process faced multiple delays until the first offers were received in October 2021. In January 2023, the State Tender Commission declared Ulkan Mulk the winning bidder, with an offer of 107 billion soums for the property.
