Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 April 2024, the conditions for payment of one-time benefits for newborn children are changing in Uzbekistan.

Now this benefit will be provided to all women only upon the birth of their first child.

In the case of a second child, only those who are included in the Unified Register of Social Protection will receive benefits.

Benefits no longer apply to third and subsequent children.

According to the new rules, the amount of state benefits for the birth of a child will be 70.3% of the minimum wage, which now amounts to 738,150 soums.

The period for applying for benefits has also been reduced - one of the parents must submit a request to a branch of the People’s Bank within a month, in contrast to the previous period of six months.
