Computer-based road traffic management system to be created in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan created a single centralized electronic base on administrative violations, committed in road traffic, the first deputy head of the Road Traffic Security Department of Uzbekistan Interior Ministry Gayrat Boltaboev said.

UzA reported quoting Boltaboev that the base will allow to collect information about violations of drivers, adopted measures against them and levied fines.

He said that Uzbekistan also created centralized electronic base of road accidents, which help the authorities to analyze their reasons, prevent them and adopt effective measures in this direction.

The country also has electronic database of all vehicles, registered in Uzbekistan. This database helps to search vehicles and register them in short period.

He noted that currently in cooperation with the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information, the department developed a project “Creation of computerized system of management of road traffic in Tashkent city”.

The project serves for ensuring road traffic security, regulating traffic, registering and preventing violations. Within the project, Tashkent city will be equipped with detectors, video surveillance, photo radars, etc.

According to official data, number of road accidents in Uzbekistan decreased by 9% in the first five months of 2012, while number of deaths in the result of accidents fell by 9.7% and victims – 10.5%.
