Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee of Uzbekistan is examining the market for propane distribution and sales through commodity exchanges.
Social media reports indicate a sharp rise in propane prices in some regions, notably in Andijan, where prices have reached 6,500 soums.
The Competition Committee has stated that additional information will be provided once the investigation is complete.
As part of its duties, the committee regularly analyzes the status of high-liquidity products on exchanges.
On 17 July, the committee informed the regulator about the potential price increase for propane and called for measures to stabilize prices.
