Companies from Turkiye and China to build high-voltage power transmission networks in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkish company ŞA-RA ENERJĪ Īnşaat, Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. and the Chinese company Xian Electric Engineering Co., Ltd won tenders for the construction of high-voltage power transmission networks in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC held international tenders for the construction of high-voltage power transmission networks in Tashkent and Syrdarya regions.

According to the results of the tenders, the Turkish company ŞA-RA ENERJĪ Īnşaat, Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. was recognized as the winner of the tender for the construction of a 220 kV transmission line with a length of 213 km with a proposed cost of US$31.89 million.

Also, the Chinese company Xian Electric Engineering Co., Ltd was recognized as the winner of the tender for the construction of a 500 kV power transmission line with a length of 72 km with a proposed cost of US$14.68 million.

On 23 December 2022, contracts were signed with the winning companies. The project is financed by the World Bank and is planned for implementation in 2022-2024.

The implementation of this project will improve the reliability of power supply to Syrdarya and Tashkent regions, as well as the city of Tashkent, reduce the load on the main electrical networks of the Tashkent part of the energy system and bring their capacity in line with future needs.
