Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection of Uzbekistan has fined Anglesey Food, the operator of the Korzinka supermarket chain, for misleading advertising.

Specialists from the committee analyzed the company’s advertising materials containing claims such as "Lowest prices on daily purchases," "Lowest prices at Korzinka," and "Come for the best deals!"

In the committee’s opinion, such statements could mislead consumers.

A special commission reviewed the case against Anglesey Food for alleged violations of advertising legislation and consumer rights protection.

The Korzinka supermarket chain was found guilty of violating the law. A fine was imposed on the company, the amount of which has not been disclosed.

Additionally, Korzinka has been instructed to rectify the violations in its advertising materials within a month.

The committee reminded that Korzinka has the right to challenge this decision in court if it disagrees with the ruling.

The Korzinka supermarket network has expressed its position regarding the claims of the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection of Uzbekistan regarding the use of the phrase "lowest prices" in advertising.

Korzinka emphasized that honesty and transparency in communication with customers and the government are extremely important for the company. Korzinka respects legislation and strictly complies with all norms and rules in the field of advertising and consumer rights protection. The company does not believe it has committed any violations.
