Citizens of Tashkent to sort waste to special plastic bags
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Citizens of Tashkent will have to sort out waste to plastic bags of various colours from 1 August 2012 and throw out them to special containers of varours colours, Gazeta.uz reported quoting Toshkent Oqshomi newspaper.

The website said that Council of People’s Deputies of Tashkent city approved new rules, which are directed at improving sanitary and epidemiology situation and ensure cleanness of the city. New rules are mandatory for individuals and legal entities.

In line with new rules, waste should be placed in plastic bags of four bags and special containers.

According to the decision, Tashkent citizens should throw waste from plastics, PET bottles and others to blue plastic bags.

Waste from paper, cardboard, and paper products should be thrown to white plastic bags, food waste will be placed to yellow bags.

Black bags will be used for other waste. Special containers should be used for mercury lamps to avoid it leakage.

Sorted waste should be placed to containers of the same color. Thus, white bags will be placed to white containers, blue to blue, etc.

The rules banned to store waste near buildings, houses and outside of the specialized places for waste collection, throw waste to streets.

Waste collecting points should have clear borders and meet sanitary and epidemiology rules. They should have also special containers.

The report said that those, who will not adhere to new rules, will be punished in line with the legislation.
