CIS Power Council to meet in Russian Federation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Thirty-seventh session of the Power Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will hold a meeting in Uglich, Russian Federation, on 28 May.

Representatives of the energy ministries, large energy companies and power firms of the CIS countries will participate at the session.

Participants will discuss draft protocol on introduction of changes and amendments to the agreement on ensuring parallel work of the CIS power system, issues of cooperation with international energy organization, cooperation with the CIS states in use of renewable energy and others.

The CIS Power Council was founded in line with the agreement on coordination of inter-state relations in power industry among the CIS states, which was inked in February 1992. The council unites Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldavia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

The activity of the Council is directed at ensuring reliable energy supply of the CIS states due to use of advantages of single technologic base of power industry and organization of sustainable parallel work of national power systems.
