Aydin Aliyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan State Customs Committee, briefed the participants about the history of customs authorities in Azerbaijan, saying that customs checkpoints are faced with instances of terrorism, human trafficking, illicit drug trafficking and other wrongdoings.
He added that the meeting will set the main priorities of cooperation among law enforcement bodies, ways of combating crimes, violations of intellectual property rights and issues of detector dog breeding, increasing professionalism, etc.
Igor Zavrajnov, Deputy Chairman of Russian Customs Service who heads the Committee of Heads of CIS Customs Services Council’s Law Enforcement Units, 15 customs-related problems will be focused on at the meeting.
Representatives from customs bodies of Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are also present at the meeting while Turkmenistan and Armenia are not represented.
