CIS countries discuss social policy and labor market development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A delegation from Uzbekistan participated in the meeting of the Advisory Council on Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Population of CIS Member States, held in a hybrid format.

The meeting brought together representatives and experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, along with members of the Interparliamentary Assembly, the Interstate Statistical Committee, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the CIS Executive Committee.

Over the past three decades, the Advisory Council has played a significant role in developing the social and labor sector, shaping a common labor market, and strengthening cooperation among CIS countries.

Key issues discussed included the implementation of decisions from the previous meeting, results of cooperation in the social and labor sector, and the current situation in this area within the CIS countries.

Turkmenistan, as the presiding country, presented its achievements in implementing social policies, emphasizing the importance of the individual as the highest value of society and the state.

Council members highlighted the coordinated actions, strong legal framework, and political will that foster successful long-term collaboration.

There was confidence that the initiatives discussed during the meeting would help to strengthen a unified social and labor policy, stimulate integration, and expand mutually beneficial partnerships.

The need for experience-sharing and close cooperation with other CIS bodies on mutually important issues was emphasized.

The meeting reaffirmed the CIS countries' commitment to enhancing cooperation in the social and labor sphere and creating favorable conditions for the lives and work of their citizens.
