The 12th meeting of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Tax Services of CIS and the 21st meeting of the Council of Heads of Tax Services of the Eurasian Economic Community were held on 1 June in Kazan. The heads of tax agencies of 12 countries came to participate in the meetings, RIA Novosti reported.

Participants summed up the results of the work carried out by the Council under the Integration Committee of the EurAsEC in 2006, analysed the work of the tax systems of specific countries, and shared experience on the practice of indirect methods of taxation, the issues concerning the control over the "shadow" economy, and discussed the organization of the informational exchange between the tax services of the countries.

At the meeting of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Tax Agencies of CIS, special attention was given to the joint tax control in the sphere of production and circulation of alcohol and alcohol-containing products, tax evasion mechanisms, and protection of information transferred between the tax services of the CIS countries.
