Uzbekistan 14/10/2009 Chinese president meets SCO premiers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met the Prime Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing, China, on Wednesday, 14 October 2009.

The SCO Prime Ministers gathered in Beijing to hold the summit and discuss wide-range issues related to cooperation within the organization. Uzbekistan was represented by the Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyaev.

Hu Jintao pointed to difficult and changing international situation at this stage and noted that further strengthening of construction and development of the SCO requires to overcome consequences of international financial crisis and stimulate rehabilitation of global economy, as well as review “hot” problems and effective combating challenges of global level.

Chinese leader called the SCO member states to strengthen good neighborhood and understanding, as well as strengthen solidarity and interaction. Hu Jintao expressed hope that the SCO member states to be more open for participation in regional economic cooperation within the organizations and boosting relations with the observer states and partners within the organizations, other countries and international bodies, Xinhua reported.

The SCO premiers expressed satisfaction with the summit and praised contribution of China in construction and development of the SCO. They said thanks to joint efforts, cooperation within the SCO achieved practical results.

Prime Ministers said all member states pay serious attention to cooperation and ready to strengthen trade-economic, power, humanitarian, scientific, cultural, infrastructure, healthcare, education, fighting terrorism, separatism and extremism to ensure regional and global stability and security.
