Chinese market open for Uzbek grapes and chicken feet

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, together with the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, is actively working to promote domestic products to the Chinese market, Dunyo news agency reported.

As part of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to China on 18-19 May, a number of documents were signed, including the Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements for the Export of Table Grapes from Uzbekistan to China and the Protocol on Inspection, Quarantine, Veterinary and Sanitary Requirements for Frozen Poultry Meat, exported from Uzbekistan to China”. The documents were signed by the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Main Customs Administration of China.

China exercises strict controls on goods imported into the country, granting controlled quarantine access to importers/manufacturers to inspect products. The protocols clearly define sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary requirements.

In particular, table grapes and frozen chicken feet exported from Uzbekistan to China must comply with Chinese import phytosanitary and veterinary requirements, as well as Chinese food safety and hygiene standards.

The export of products is allowed only to enterprises included in the register of the Chinese Phytosanitary Service, which is the responsibility of the Plant Protection Agency and the Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development under the Ministry of Agriculture.

In the light of the signed protocols, new opportunities are opening up for entrepreneurs to increase exports to China, and for manufacturers and farmers to multiply their income. It is noted that Uzbek exporters should do everything possible to get the maximum benefit from the supply of their products to the Chinese market.
