Chinese investors to launch major projects in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese investors have reached agreements to implement a number of projects in the Bukhara region, according to the press service of the regional administration.
From 16 to 22 March, a delegation led by the Deputy Governor of the Bukhara region, Rizo Asadov, visited the Chinese cities of Shenzhen, Zunshan, and Shenyang, where they held negotiations with representatives of major businesses and officials regarding attracting investments.
During a meeting with Shenyang's Vice Mayor, Liu Kebin, the prospects for cooperation in the fields of education, medicine, and tourism were discussed. In negotiations with the Deputy Head of Liaoning Province, Shan Yi, possibilities for mineral resource extraction and the establishment of joint industrial zones were considered. The discussions culminated in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Bukhara region and Liaoning Province.
As part of the trip, the business forum "Shenzhen — Bukhara" took place, involving 60 leading Chinese companies. At the event, agreements were signed with companies such as Shenzhen Water Technology and battery manufacturer Enermall. Another investment forum, which brought together 40 major companies, was held in Liaoning Province. During the forum, a memorandum was signed with Qitong Tea to establish tea plantations in the Bukhara region and to set up tea production worth 10 million dollars.
Highclass Solar Light Co. Ltd reached an agreement to launch the production of LED products and to build a four-star hotel in Bukhara valued at 10 million dollars. Guangdong Chant Group intends to implement a cogeneration system for a residential complex of 5,000 apartments in the regional center.
Additionally, an agreement was reached with Taili Group to open an academy for training specialists and to create a marketing platform. Yoye Wisdom plans to localize the production of textile products for export to Europe, while Lesso expressed interest in cooperating in the construction industry.
