Chinese Government strengthens measures to prevent recurrent COVID-19 outbreaks

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chinese authorities will conduct a series of inspections in 17 provincial-level regions to make sure that all measures are taken there to prevent repeated outbreaks of a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the autumn-winter period. This was reported on 18 September by the PRC State Health Committee.

As part of the inspections, attention will be paid to the implementation of measures to prevent the epidemic in border ports, schools, public places and hospitals, said the head of the department, Ma Xiaowei.

He also called for preparations for nucleic acid testing, treating COVID-19 patients, organizing quarantine points and stocks of preventive supplies to ensure that appropriate testing is carried out for all residents within 5-7 days of the detection of a local outbreak of COVID-19.

The inspections, scheduled for late September, will be carried out by a joint mechanism of the State Council of the People's Republic of China for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.
