Yang said during their meeting that China-Uzbekistan relations have maintained a positive momentum of development since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 20 years ago.

He noted that the two countries have established a friendly and cooperative partnership, carried out fruitful cooperation in the international arena and implemented cooperative projects in fields including economy and trade, energy, transportation and telecommunications.

"China regards Uzbekistan as a sincere friend and reliable partner and is willing to work with Uzbekistan to complement all consensus reached by the two countries' leaders and agreements between the two sides so as to promote bilateral relations to a new high," Yang said.

Kamilov said Uzbekistan and China have enjoyed rapid growth in their partnership in recent years, with fruitful results.

"Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the relationship with China and is willing to make joint efforts to deepen cooperation in all fields and therefore to bring bilateral relations to a new level," he added.

Kamilov is visiting China to attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Foreign Ministers Council. The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
