Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, is on a working visit to Uzbekistan.

Accompanied by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, members of the Chinese delegation visited the "New Uzbekistan" park and laid a wreath at the Independence Monument.

The head of the delegation reviewed the architectural features and composition of the complex, which was created on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The delegation of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress also visited the under-construction Olympic Village in Tashkent, which will host participants of the Asian and Para-Asian Youth Games in 2025.

Zhao Leji was briefed on the progress of the construction of the Olympic Village, a project being implemented jointly with the Chinese company CAMC Engineering, known for building sports facilities in 70 countries around the world.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress highly praised the scale and quality of the work being carried out in the village. He noted that this demonstrates the significant attention the state pays to the development of sports, and that all these projects are the result of the well-established, comprehensive, and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
