Chinese company to build copper cable plant in Ferghana Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chinese company Xinjiang Bai Yi Da Construction Investment Co., Ltd. plans to build a copper cable manufacturing plant in Ferghana region of Uzbekistan.

The head of Ferghana region Khayrullo Bozorov met with representatives of Xinjiang Bai Yi Da Construction Investment Co., Ltd.

During the meeting, organizational issues related to the construction of the copper cable plant with Chinese investment were discussed. The plant will be located in the Ferghana region.

The first phase of the project, with an estimated cost of US$40 million, includes the establishment of copper cable production. The plant will process 100,000 tons of copper annually, which will meet domestic demand and allow for the export of part of the production.

The regional governor emphasized that investors will be provided with the necessary support for the successful implementation of the project. It was proposed to locate the plant in the "Kokand" technopark, and an agreement was reached on this matter. Clarifications were also provided regarding the benefits available to investors.

A memorandum and roadmap for the implementation of this project were signed between the regional administration and the Chinese company.
