Chinese Ambassador: Relations with Uzbekistan Have Entered a “Golden Period”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Relations between China and Uzbekistan have entered a “golden period” and are now on a “fast track” of development, said Yu Jun, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan, commenting on President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s recent visit to China.
According to the diplomat, the meetings of the heads of state in Tianjin and Beijing marked another significant milestone in the history of strategic partnership. “Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, bilateral relations are demonstrating unprecedented dynamism and have reached a new level of trust and cooperation,” Yu Jun noted.
The Uzbek leader’s visit coincided with several major international events, including the SCO summit and the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The ambassador emphasized that Mirziyoyev’s participation confirmed the “all-weather” and “comprehensive” nature of Uzbek-Chinese interaction, provided additional momentum for cooperation, and strengthened the joint stance of the two countries on international issues.
The sides agreed to expand partnership in priority areas, ranging from the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway and green energy projects to medical services, scientific research, digital economy, and tackling global challenges. President Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to China for its comprehensive support of Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development and highly appreciated the results achieved in trade, investment, education, and regional cooperation.
“It can be confidently stated that Chinese-Uzbek relations are in their golden period, and today they are moving along the fast lane of cooperation,” emphasized the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
