Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 October, a meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the Chinese company China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) and Deputy Minister of Transport A. Muminov and relevant officials of the ministry, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

The sides discussed issues of cooperation in the implementation of public-private partnership projects in the transport sector.

In particular, representatives of the Chinese company expressed their interest in participating in promising projects for the construction of toll roads in Uzbekistan.

Representatives of foreign companies were provided with information about projects that are planned to be implemented in our country on the basis of PPP in the field of transport and road infrastructure.

In particular, an exchange of views took place on the project for the construction of toll roads Tashkent-Andijan, Tashkent-Samarkand, implemented with the advisory support of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as on projects for the construction of a 66-kilometer highway between the cities of Samarkand and Shakhrisabz and 4, 4 km tunnel at the Takhtakaracha pass.

Following the meeting, the Chinese company expressed its readiness to submit its financial, technical and other proposals for projects implemented on the basis of PPP to the Ministry of Transport.
