Economy12/11/2007China to supply US$36.2m equipment to electrify Uzbek railway
The Uzbekiston Temir Yollari national railway company and the China National Technical Import & Export Corporation have signed a US$36.2 million contract to buy equipment for the electrification of the Tashkent-Angren railway line [in central Uzbekistan], Uzbek newspaper Tashkentskaya Pravda reported on 10 November.
In line with the contract, the Chinese company is to supply and install four railway sub-stations. The company specialists will also install special technological equipment purchased from China to electrify the Tashkent-Angren railway line.
