China and Uzbekistan plan to strengthen cooperation in the consular-legal sphere

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A meeting was held in Beijing between representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the leadership of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Dunyo news agency reported.

The talks with the Director of the Visa Policy and Consular Affairs Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Song Shiu, focused on key aspects of cooperation in the consular-legal field.

Special attention was given to issues related to visa policy, the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of both countries, as well as the expansion of the legal framework regulating bilateral relations.

The Uzbek side provided a detailed overview of the favorable conditions created in the country for the development of tourism, business, and attracting foreign investors. Achievements made within the scope of reforms in these areas were highlighted.

It was also emphasized that the liberalization of the visa regime is a priority for the Uzbek government. This measure has already brought notable positive results, contributing to the strengthening of international cooperation.

One of Uzbekistan’s key goals in the consular-legal field remains the simplification of visa procedures and the signing of agreements for mutual visa exemptions with various countries.

The Chinese side expressed appreciation for Uzbekistan’s achievements in the reform process and highly praised the efforts to liberalize the visa regime. Special attention was drawn to the successful results in recent years, which have contributed to the improvement of political and economic relations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue constructive cooperation and promptly address emerging issues in the consular-legal sphere.
