Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — London’s Chelsea secured a dominant victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, crushing their opponents with a convincing scoreline.
Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and doubled the lead just eight minutes later, completing a brace. Shortly before halftime, in the 43rd minute, João Pedro made it 3–0 after a precise assist from Palmer, further deepening PSG’s woes.
The second half continued at a tense pace, but the Parisians were unable to change the momentum of the match. In the 85th minute, PSG midfielder João Neves was shown a red card after a VAR review — the referee sent him off for unsportsmanlike behavior after he was caught pulling Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella’s hair.
Chelsea sealed a confident win and were crowned the new FIFA Club World Cup champions.
