Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 May, a dialogue was held in the upper house of parliament between the Chairperson of the Senate, as well as senators with all members of the Youth Parliament.

During the event, which was held in a constructive spirit and practical content, attention was paid to such issues as analyzing the activities of the Youth Parliament, taking appropriate measures for its further development, and determining plans based on priority areas.

It was noted that at the videoconference held on 11 April under the Chairpersonship of the President on measures to increase the effectiveness of work carried out in the field of youth policy and further improve the system of work with youth, a number of important tasks were set before the Youth Parliaments under the chambers of the Oliy Majlis.

Among them are such issues as strengthening public control in the implementation of state youth policy, establishing effective interaction between the Youth Parliament and ministries and departments, using the Youth Parliament's capabilities in identifying youth problems, bringing these problems to the discussion of local Kengashes of people's deputies and their positive resolution.

The Chairperson of the Senate dwelled on some issues that the Youth Parliament should pay attention to in its activities.

- At the initiative of the Senate, a system has been established for the participation of members of the Youth Parliament in plenary sessions. That is, all of you are actively involved in the legislative process. Of course, you need to be more active in this regard, this is a great school for you. The issue of some regions, raised at plenary sessions of the Senate by senators, may be relevant for other regions. In this sense, if the members of the Youth Parliament are active in issues important for young people in the regions and make proposals to the district, city, regional Kengash of people's deputies or to the relevant committees of the Senate, we are ready to submit them for discussion by the Kengash or the plenary session of the Senate. It is also time to revive the activities of the Youth Parliament through international cooperation. It is necessary to go not only to the level of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS countries, but also on a wider scale - to the arena of international parliamentary structures of the world. In particular, it would be expedient to establish relations with the parliaments of the European Union, Asian countries and the United States and exchange experience.

“Each of you should adhere to the opinion that “We are strong, Uzbekistan also has great potential and I am its driver, I have the knowledge and only with me these reforms are possible,” emphasized the Chairperson of the Senate.

At the meeting, recommendations were also made to bring the essence and significance of the Constitution in the new edition to the population, especially to young people, as well as to widely involve members of the Youth Parliament in the process of finalizing the Law "On State Youth Policy" based on the proposals of 

It was informed that members of the Youth Parliament are assigned to ministries and departments to work on the basis of the principle of social partnership. According to the new system, each member will now visit the ministries and departments to which he is attached at least once a month and study the state of work with youth and the conditions created for young employees. In addition, public monitoring of the implementation of legislation relating to youth will be carried out.

At the same time, based on the specifics of work with youth, ministries and departments will determine strategies for the short, medium and long term and develop targeted measures for their implementation.

During the dialogue, members of the Youth Parliament put forward a number of proposals aimed at protecting the interests of young people. In particular, they expressed their opinion on organizing once a month meetings of regional members of the Youth Parliament with khokims of regions to discuss youth issues, the possibility of participating and expressing their opinion on topical issues relating to youth in debates at plenary sessions of the Senate, the systematic establishment of international meetings and cooperation relations.

Based on the results of the meeting, based on the proposals submitted, recommendations were made to revise the work plan of the Youth Parliament, and, if necessary, to prepare a separate program.
