Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek-Chinese cooperation continues to actively develop on the basis of friendship, mutual respect and trust, strengthening at the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. This was noted at the meeting of the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun.

During the meeting, prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, such as politics, trade, economics, investment, culture, humanitarian issues, and tourism were discussed. It was noted that thanks to regular dialogue and visits by heads of state, relations between the peoples of the two countries have reached a new level.

An important aspect of the discussion was the positive indicators in trade and economic cooperation. Mutual trade turnover for the current year (January-August) increased by 36%, which indicates success in this area.

The parties emphasized the need to further expand cooperation not only at the government level, but also between the regions of both countries.

Particular attention was paid to interparliamentary relations, which are considered an important mechanism for strengthening strategic partnerships. The need to intensify interaction between the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the National People's Congress was emphasized.

During the dialogue, prospects for cooperation in the fields of science, education and culture were also discussed.
