Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, during a work visit to New York, met with the Minister of Family Affairs and Social Security of Türkiye Mahinur Ozdemir Göktas.

It was noted that thanks to the strong political will and joint efforts of the heads of our states, today fraternal relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye are developing on the basis of mutual trust.

During the dialogue, issues of ensuring gender equality, creating decent working conditions, developing women's entrepreneurship, and deepening cooperation in working with populations in need of social protection were discussed.

A proposal has been put forward to further develop cooperation between the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality and the Turkish Parliament Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in order to exchange experience in improving the institutional and legal framework in the field of preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.

Following the meeting, which was held in a constructive and practical spirit, an agreement was reached on the implementation of joint projects and programs to realize the economic opportunities of women.
