The CER said that the purpose of the mission is to continue the dialogue with the Government on improving the business environment to support the competitiveness of Uzbekistan.

Starting from 2009, the CER implements Business Climate Index (BCI) Project, a joint initiative of Center for Economic Research and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan aimed at elaborating a toolkit for assessment and short-term forecasting of business activity dynamics.

The BC Index is calculated on the base of survey results of approximately 500-600 enterprises’ managers from all 14 regions of Uzbekistan and covers 5 main sectors of economy – industry, agriculture, construction, transport and communications, trade.
