The event was aimed at informing political parties on main principles and conditions for preparation and organization of upcoming elections to parliament and local Councils of People’s Deputies.

The election commission presented concept on preparation and organization of elections to parliament and local Councils of People’s Deputies and draft list of events, planned to hold from May to December 2009.

It was said that only political parties, registered in Uzbekistan, can submit their nominees to parliamentary elections.
