Central Bank: the volume of bank cash turnover increased by 36.4% in January-June 2022

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-June 2022, the volume of banking cash turnover amounted to 316.3 trillion soums, and increased by 36.4% compared to the same period in 2021, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.

In particular, the volume of cash receipts at the cash desks of banks amounted to 152.3 trillion soums, and cash consumption - 164 trillion soums.

In January-June of this year, the total amount of cash receipts at the cash desks of banks increased by 32% compared to the same period in 2021, in particular, receipts from trade and services increased by 25% (14.3 trillion soums), cash receipts from the provision of banking services - by 53.4% (17.6 trillion soums). As a result, the share of the revenue from trade and services in the structure of total revenues decreased by 2.6%age points.

For 6 months of 2022, total income from trade and services made up 114.7 trillion soums, of which 62.5% (71.7 trillion soums) in cash, 37.5% (43 trillion soums) through terminals. For the same period last year, respectively, 64% (57.4 trillion soums) in cash, 36% (32.2 trillion soums) credited to bank accounts through terminals.

In January-June of this year, there was an increase of 40.8% (47.5 trillion soums) in cash flow through bank cash desks (including ATMs) compared to the same period of last year. This is due to an increase in cash withdrawals from bank cards by 22.2 trillion soums (52.7%), as well as by increasing the amount of cash used to purchase foreign currency by 13.6 trillion soums (43.7%).

In the first half of this year, funds received on bank cards increased by 80.6% (by 102.3 trillion soums) compared to the same period in 2021, which amounted to 229.2 trillion soums. soums.

Of which: 80.1 trillion soums - for the payment of pensions, benefits and wages, 67.9 trillion soums - for international money transfers and transfers from card to card, 47.1 trillion soums are funds transferred in cash and from savings accounts to bank cards.

During this period, 64.3 trillion soums (28.1%) of funds were withdrawn from bank cards in cash. Of which: 50.4 trillion soums were cashed out through ATMs, and 13.9 trillion soums - at the cash desks of banks.

In particular, for 6 months of the current year, the Central Bank received an additional 11.8 trillion soums of cash, and as of July 1, the share of cash in the total money supply amounted to 25.6%.
