Central Bank presents design of banknotes with denominations of 5,000 soums and 10,000 soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Central Bank of Uzbekistan will release new banknotes in denominations of 5,000 soums and 10,000 soums.

The theme of these banknotes is dedicated to the "Great Silk Road" and the history of the ancient cities of Samarkand and Tashkent located on the territory of our state.

The banknotes are printed on security paper.

5000 soum banknote:

Size 142 x 69 mm.

On a light background, on the right side of the banknote, there is a local watermark in the form of a camel - a symbol of the Great Silk Road caravan routes and a face value of 5000.

On the right side of the banknote, in the thickness of the paper, there is a metallized, machine-readable security thread with the text “UZB”, 2 mm wide.

The predominant colors of the front and back sides are green and brown.

On the obverse, on the left side of the banknote, there is the “SHERDOR MADRASASI” in the city of Samarkand, built in 1619-1635.

In the upper left corner is the number "5000" printed with OVI variable ink. The denomination color changes from magenta to green depending on the viewing angle.

In the upper right part of the banknote there is the text "O‘ZBEKISTON RESPUBLIKASI MARKAZIY BANKI", in the upper right corner of the banknote the Coat of arms of the Republic of Uzbekistan is depicted in brown.

A special element, made in brown, located on the right and left edges, is intended for people with low vision and, due to the relief of the image, makes it possible to determine the value of the denomination by touch.

At the bottom of the banknote, against the background of an ornamental pattern, a "latent" (hidden) image in the form of the abbreviation "UZ" is printed, visible at a certain angle of inclination with respect to the light source.

In the lower part of the left side there is an inscription "BESH MING SO’M", reflecting the denomination value and the text "O’ZBEKISTON SO’MI RESPUBLIKA HUDIDA HAMMA TO’LOVLAR UCHUN O’Z QIYMATI BO’YICHA QABUL QILINISHI SHART".

The above images are made using intaglio printing, giving the ink relief feel to the touch.

On the right side of the banknote, against a light background, there are imprinted circles of different diameters, which, when copied, distort the image.

Against the background of the national fabric "khan-atlas" on the map of Uzbekistan, blue lines depict the direction of the caravan roads of the "Great Silk Road".

In the upper left part there is a “winged leopard”, which is a symbol of the city of Samarkand, the image of which, performing the function of a register, serves to combine the “face” with the “turnover”. When viewed through the light, the light part of the banknote is combined with the colored background on the reverse side, forming a full-fledged image.

The banknote number consists of a two-letter series of the Latin alphabet and a seven-digit number. On the right side, the number is printed horizontally, on the left side - vertically.

The reverse side of the banknote depicts "AFROSIYOB ARXEOLOGIYA YODGORLIGI" dating back to the 8th-5th centuries BC.

On the right side there is a ceramic jug and a tray (lyagan) belonging to the 10th century, found in the ruins of Afrosiab.

In the upper part on the left side the text "O’ZBEKISTON RESPUBLIKASI MARKAZIY BANKI" and the year of issue of the banknote "2021" are imprinted.

In the lower part, on the right and left sides, on one line in white, the denomination of the denomination is imprinted in numbers "5000", also in the upper right corner there is an inscription "BESH MING SO’M ".

At the bottom, the text "O’ZBEKISTON SO’MINI QALBAKILASHTIRISH QONUNGA MUVOFIQ TA’QIB QILINADI" is located as a warning.

On the right side of the banknote, in the thickness of the paper, there is a holographic security, metallized, machine-readable security thread with the text “UZB”, 3 mm wide.

On the front side, on the left side of the banknote, there is an architectural monument "KO’KALDOSH MADRASASI" in the city of Tashkent, built in 1551-1575.

On the left side of the upper part there is the number “10000”, printed with color-variable OVI ink. Depending on the viewing angle, the denomination color changes from golden to green.

In the upper part of the banknote there is the text "O’ZBEKISTON RESPUBLIKASI MARKAZIY BANKI", in the upper right corner of the banknote in blue, the Coat of arms of the Republic of Uzbekistan is depicted.

The reverse side of the banknote depicts the most ancient monument in the territory of the city of Tashkent "SHOSHTEPA ARXEOLOGIYA YODGORLIGI", dating back to the 1st century BC.

On the right side there are images of a sample of the ancient craft of Tashkent in the form of a ceramic tray (lyagan), dating back to the X-XII centuries, and household utensils of the X century.

In the upper left corner the text "O ‘ZBEKISTON RESPUBLIKASI MARKAZIY BANKI" and the year of issue of the banknote "2021" are imprinted.

In the lower part, in the right and left corners, on one line in white, the denomination of the denomination is placed in numbers "10000", also in the upper right corner the inscription "O’N MING SO’M" is imprinted.

At the bottom of the banknote there is a warning text "O’ZBEKISTON SO’MINI QALBAKILASHTIRISH QONUNGA MUVOFIQ TAQIB QILINADI".
