Finance 27/10/2008 Central Bank of Uzbekistan licenses seven credit unions

Tashkent (uzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan issued licenses to seven organizations to carry out activity of credit unions in the country.

The licenses were issued in line with the article 17 of the Law of Uzbekistan “On Central Bank” and the article 4 of the Law of Uzbekistan “On credit unions”.

Afrosiyob credit (Samarkand city, Samarkand region), Plaza sarmoya (Kitab city, Kashkadarya region), Havokand (Kokand city, Ferghana region), Toshkent capital (Tashkent city), Prime Kapital (Urgench city, Khorezm region), Ark (Bukhara city, Bukhara region) and Garant-Zar-kredit (Zarafshan city, Navoi region) received the licenses from the Central Bank.

The charter capitals of Havokand, Prime Kapital and Ark made up 33 million soums each, while Afrosiyob credit’s authorized capital comprised 35 million and Plaza sarmoya’s charter capital was 32.7 million. Toshkent capital and Garant-Zar-kredit formed their charter capital at the amount of 65.3 million soums and 38 million soums respectively.

The credit unions will direct their efforts to finance business projects of their members (small businesses and individual entrepreneurs) and provide them leasing services.
