Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan fined 16 commercial banks for incomplete disclosure of information about loans. This was reported by the regulator’s press service.

The statement from the Central Bank notes that the regulator carried out control measures to protect the rights of consumers of banking services.

In particular, Central Bank specialists checked the acceptance of payments through POS terminals and the disclosure to clients of complete information about the loans provided.

Representatives of the regulator revealed that commercial banks did not fully disclose information about loans and deposits. Also, banks have not fully established the provision of services through bank cards.

Based on the results of inspections, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan applied sanctions against 21 credit organizations. The regulator also issued warnings to five banks.
