Central Bank may temporarily restrict transactions on cards and accounts if fraudulent transactions are suspected

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan now has the right to issue directives to banks and payment organizations to temporarily restrict transactions on bank cards and accounts in payment applications if fraudulent transactions are suspected.

This is stipulated by the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan on measures to protect the rights of consumers of digital products (services) and strengthen the fight against offenses committed using digital technologies.

The measures taken are aimed at timely suppression of fraud, prevention of theft of funds from bank cards and other crimes.

If suspicious transactions are detected, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan will issue instructions to banks and payment organizations to temporarily limit transactions with bank cards or accounts up to three days.
