The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved a regulation on the Centers for culture and leisure of population.
According to the resolution, some 894 Centers for culture and leisure of population will be created on the base of 1,777 culture houses and clubs, of which 38 will be created for people with disabilities.
The centers will be founded in all regions and cities of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city and they should provide quality cultural services to population.
The main activities of the centers are to study the cultural needs of the population and provide a variety of services, educational and cultural entertainment, creating the conditions for lovers of amateur classes, artistic creativity and arts and crafts.
The centers will be legal entities in form of the state bodies, which will support and develop cultural-creative, education and leisure activities in various forms.
The Centers can be created in three forms. The first type can be constructed in cities and administrative centers of the districts and can serve over 40,000 people. Such centers should have halls for 400 seats.
The second type can be constructed in cities and administrative centers of the districts and can serve over 20,000 people. Such centers should have halls for 250 seats.
The third type can be constructed in regional centers of districts and rural area, which can serve over 7,000 people. Such centers should have halls for 150 seats.
At the same time, the first, second and third type centers can be constructed in cities and regional centers, while the second and third type centers can be built in rural areas.
The centers are established in order to study and meet social needs in the preservation and development of national traditional culture, support artistic creativity, amateur creativity and socio-cultural activity of the population, organization of leisure and recreation.
