Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 November, the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank (BSPU) opened a Center for Uzbek Culture. This event, timed to the 110th anniversary of the university, is the result of fruitful cooperation between BSPU and the Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami. This was reported by the agency BELTA.
The rector of BSPUf, Alexander Zhuk, noted that the collaboration with the Tashkent Pedagogical University began six years ago with the opening of a Belarusian-Uzbek educational center. In 2017, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, covering the exchange of educational materials and scientific literature, participation in conferences and seminars, joint development of programs and curricula, as well as collaboration in research and innovative projects.
Since 2018, a joint faculty of "Innovative Pedagogy" has operated, where students received dual degrees. Programs in preschool and primary education, speech therapy, and practical psychology became popular. Since last year, master’s programs in "Inclusive Education" and "Psychology" have been introduced. More than 360 graduates have completed studies at the joint faculty, and currently, about 120 bachelor’s students and 70 master’s students are enrolled.
Alexander Zhuk emphasized that the opening of the Center for Uzbek Culture symbolizes the expansion of humanitarian cooperation. The center will be used for cultural and educational events, and the Uzbek Embassy in Belarus played an important role in finding the appropriate premises.
Rahmatulla Nazarov, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Belarus, highlighted the active development of relations between the two countries and the need for training specialists, including in the field of education. He pointed out that cooperation goes beyond pedagogical education and covers other areas, including economics. The ambassador also noted the successes in promoting Uzbek culture in Belarus and expressed hope for further development of cooperation, including in industrial cooperation.
