The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the UNDP project “Business Forum of Uzbekistan” at participation of ministries and departments, local administrations, public and scientific organizations.

During the session, the participants discussed issues of improving legislation and practice on improvement of waste, practical aspects of attracting private sector into waste management, financing and taxation of the enterprises of the sector.

Main parameters of pilot project on improving waste management in Yangiyul district with participation of the private sector were presented. The experience of private operator on waste management in Zangiaata district of Tashkent region was also considered.

At the discussions, the participant developed proposals on improving legal base and order of attracting small and private businesses in waste management, introduction of public-private partnership, boosting propaganda work, etc.
