CBU clarifies new regulation on sales of hard currency
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan published a statement, which clarifies scope of new procedures for the sale of cash hard currency to individuals, which entered into force on 1 February 2013.

The regulator said that with introduction of new order of purchase of cash hard currency existing mechanisms on transfer of resources to deposits of residents and non-residents in hard currency, withdrawal of resources from accounts on first demand and their use on own remains in line with currency legislation.

Central Bank added that current mechanism on purchase of airplane tickets and locally-made cars for hard currency with use of banking payment cards, opened at commercial banks, was not changed.

As reported earlier, from 1 February 2013 individuals in Uzbekistan cannot purchase cash hard currency at exchange points. In line with new rules, they can buy hard currency to banking payment cards.
