Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 January 2025, cash payments for bus rides in Tashkent will be completely phased out.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, from that date, payments will be accepted exclusively through one-time tickets, which can be purchased at Paynet, MultiPay, or Oson info kiosks located at bus stops or nearby.
"We recommend that passengers use electronic payment systems, as it is the most convenient and fastest way to pay," the ministry emphasized.
Additionally, in late November, the Tashkent city administration presented a draft decree to raise public transportation fares. It is planned that a one-time ticket will increase to 3,000 soums, and the transportation of large luggage will cost 4,000 soums.
For those who pay with bank cards or through the ATTO app, the fare will be 1,700 soums. New fare structures based on the number of trips will also be introduced.
