Cases of infection with H3N2 influenza, known as the "Hong Kong flu", have been recorded in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cases of infection with H3N2 influenza, known as the "Hong Kong flu", have been recorded in Uzbekistan. This was announced by Nurmat Atabekov, first deputy head of the Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health.

He said that since the beginning of the year, 4 cases of “swine flu” have also been identified.

According to him, over the past week the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections has decreased by 25.5%, and in Tashkent by 25.4%.

About 2.2 million people have been vaccinated, including teachers, health workers and children at risk.

The country has created 8,838 hospital beds for the treatment of patients with influenza, where there are currently 6,000 patients. Regular laboratory monitoring and testing helps keep track of different virus strains in the region.

It was noted that the high incidence rate among children 0-1 years old is associated with insufficient isolation, visiting educational institutions and self-medication without consulting a doctor.
