Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The state is creating conditions for social support for vulnerable segments of the population. One of these measures is the introduction from 1 May 2023 of a mechanism for obtaining cashback for a certain group of essential goods by returning the paid VAT (12%) to individuals included in the Unified Register of Social Protection.
Low-income families are included in the Unified Register of Social Protection.
For 4 days, 4,534 people took advantage of this opportunity.
However, there are cases of abuse of the right to receive such cashback. For example, citizen T.Sh. registered a check for 650 million soums in the Soliq mobile application in order to return VAT, citizen M.A. scanned a check for 481 million soums, which contradicts the very idea of providing social cashback to poor people.
In this regard, the State Tax Committee asks citizens not to provide third parties with access to their account in the Soliq application and not to allow them to register suspicious checks. Since such actions lead to the need for additional verification of the information provided, which may delay cashback payments to other people who really need social support.
